My story

I am a small town Kansas girl, originally from Indiana. Growing up in the church, I learned about Jesus, but never really knew Jesus. When I went off to Kansas State University, I didn’t have a foundation in my faith. The temptations of college life and a series of emotional hurts led me to a slow fade away from my Christian worldview. I moved to Houston to complete requirements for graduation and stayed here for 7 years. Making bad decision after bad decision, I struggled through the decade of the 90s until the Lord finally got my attention. I left everything here and moved to Kansas City to start over. My best friend took me back to church and God captured my heart. I learned what it means to truly know God and be in relationship with Him.

When Rick and I met, we started attending church together. That led me to Westside Family Church. In 2006, I left the corporate retail world and moved into full time ministry. I had the privilege to serve in various leadership capacities at Westside, but my favorite by far was Director of First Steps. In 2014, the Lord brought me and my family back to Houston. We are thrilled to be a part of what God is doing at CyLife Church. I am honored that He has called me to serve His church and His people. I am passionate about creating spaces where people feel loved, seen, and known, so that the Holy Spirit can move in the hearts of the people. I believe in building authentic relationships and that only happens in a place where people feel safe to be themselves. CyLife is that place!
